Closure of Crossland Surgery Branch

The Partners of Leeds City Medical Practice have always had the long-term ambition of purchasing and redeveloping the Crossland surgery site. We received approval to do this mid-2022. As the country recovers from covid, the costs of materials and redevelopment have escalated to such levels that this plan is no longer viable. We have informed the current owners of the building that we will not be proceeding with the purchase of the building, and they have subsequently given notice to the practice to vacate by 30th June 2023.
We are very pleased to be able to inform you that we have obtained approval to increase the space that we already have at our Parkside site from 1st July 2023. We are working through this transition and hope that you agree that this is a much better solution for staff and patients than is currently available at Crossland in terms of modern, purpose built facilities.
Both our sites are within dedicated NHS buildings and are easily accessible to all.
• Crossland to Parkside is 0.5 miles and takes an average 11 minutes to walk
• Crossland to Beeston Hill is 0.7 miles and takes on average 15 minutes to walk
• Parkside to / from Beeston Hill is 0.5 miles and takes on average 11 minutes to walk
There are no changes to the services we deliver or the way you access them as a patient of Leeds City Medical Practice. We do not envisage patients will have any concerns or issues around this. To ensure this is the case we are undertaking four weeks of patient engagement, during which time we are seeking feedback from our patients and stakeholders.
There are a number of ways you can give us feedback:
• Fill in our online survey: Closure of Crossland Surgery (smartsurvey.co.uk) Don’t worry if you can’t use online services; call our Patient Care Team on 0113 467 7500 and ask for a paper copy. We can also provide the survey in alternative formats on request.
• Come or join in one of our public events:
We are holding two public events where you can find out more about our plans and share your views.
