Cervical Screening (Smear Tests)

Cervical screening helps prevent cervical cancer by detecting early changes in the cells of the cervix. It’s offered to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64.

Younger women (aged 25 to 49) who test negative for HPV, meaning they are at very low risk of cervical cancer over the next 10 years, will safely be invited at 5-year intervals

The test is quick and carried out by a female nurse, it may feel a little uncomfortable—but it should not be painful.

If you’re due or have concerns about when your next test should be, please contact us.
