Home Visits

If you, or a relative, require a consultation with a doctor but are too ill or infirmed to get to the surgery then we can arrange a home visit.  Please telephone your request to the surgery as early as possible, preferably before 10.00 a.m. The doctors will usually visit after morning surgery or in the early afternoon.

Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen.

Home visits are performed at the doctor’s discretion. Sometimes the doctor may feel it is more appropriate to telephone you and offer advice rather than to visit. Equally the doctor may arrange for another member of the Primary care team, such as the District Nurse, to visit rather than the doctor.

Emergencies do, of course, occur. Please telephone the surgery and one of the staff will pass on your details to the doctor on-call.
