The getUBetter app is a free, NHS-approved digital self-management app designed to help people recover from common muscle, bone and joint (MSK) conditions such as back pain, neck pain, knee pain and other injuries, it provides personalised guidance, exercises and advice to support recovery and help people understand when they can safely self-manage and when to seek medical help. The app can be used on a smartphone, tablet or computer and is available 24/7, allowing patients to manage their condition at home, work or on the move.

 

The app provides support for many common musculoskeletal problems including:

  • Back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Knee pain

  • Shoulder pain

  • Hip pain

  • Ankle and foot injuries

  • Wrist, hand and elbow pain

  • Tendinopathy (arm or leg)

  • Soft tissue injuries

Patients receive a personalised recovery programme tailored to their condition and stage of recovery.

  • Information on pain management and recovery

  • Advice on when to seek further help

  • Signposting to local healthcare services if needed

The app also supports prevention and long-term management once recovery is complete.
