We know that many of our patients will be making hard decisions about heating their home. If you are registered with us and also have Asthma or COPD (suspected or diagnosed), we can help you stay warmer. This is important in keeping you as healthy as possible. Staying warm will help you manage your condition and stop you getting poorly.
We have asked two charities called Care and Repair and Green Doctors to provide advice and home energy saving appliances to help you with your bills, so you can stay warmer for longer.
Care and Repair will contact you and if you agree will come to your home and offer advice on draft proofing and staying warm. They will also talk to you about energy efficient cooking and may offer you appliances which use less fuel than an oven and hob. If you are having trouble with the cost of heating, they can provide a top-up payment to help while they undertake any home improvements for you.
This service is free.
Our surgery team will send you a letter or give you a call. Our letters have the surgery name and address in the top left of the letter. You can expect a phone call from the surgery regarding this service if you have Asthma or COPD. This is not a scam, it’s our way of helping you stay healthy over winter.
